I know this seems like a silly question...but there are no Mac outlets for hardware or software within 75 miles of me, and the Adobe sites all default to "look at the card inside the box".
I don't want Elements 8, because it will run only on my Macbook. I need to know if Elements 6 requires an Intel CPU.
I need RAW support for a newer camera...can't seem to get it in Elements 3...and I want to be able to use this on a G4 MDD...Elements 8 won't run on it...will Elements 6?
Thanks

Hi ...
... and welcome to the Village :)
I only updated to an Intel Mac October last year so I must have been using PSE6 on my previous MacPro.
Are you using Leopard, or Tiger ??

I have a mac mini that I bought in 2005 or so. It is NOT running an Intel processor. It's still the old PowerPC G4 chip. Elements 6 runs fine.

Thanks to both for the quick response. I'm running 10.4.11 on both computers...don't want to upgrade the OS because I don't think it runs on a G4, just like Elements 8.

I am also running 10.4.11 on my imac G4(no pentium intel). PSE6 runs fine.

My old G4 powerbook runs elements 2 - 4 - 6 just fine .
I fill my scratch disc / the hard drive fills with Huge HDR files.
I think I found a pluging for raw in PSE 2 ? so it can be done .
But I think I'm just under OS 10.5 .. 10.47? / 10.49

As I said in my response to my other thread, I've found the solution (which was about RAW access with my newer camera) in Graphic Converter X...good shareware, and cheap...thanks to my son, Matt, who blew most of his cash on a new MB Pro, so needed a good, and cheap, RAW converter/editor.
I'm using GCX, then using older Elements and/or PS7 (even older) for further editing and compositing.
Yippee!!!

Elements 6 runs fine on PowerPC and Intel Macs. The new Elements 8 will only run on an Intel Mac.
