Hello.

I'm not finding concise information on how to install actions on my mac using pse 8.

I'm a mac newbie - and have used elements 3-6 on Windows - so familiar w/ finding the folders i need - but the xml file is different in pse 8 than pse 6 for windows.

also- mac gurus - i'm having problems accessing my printer on my windows network - help! i'm having to save my stuff then go to win computer to access my mac to import to pse 6 for windows to be able to print :( :(

i can't get mac to "see" my network -

anyway thanks for any help.

Hi ...

There are still some problems with installing actions in PSE8 ... as some of the older ones don't work.

The install is pretty similar to PSE6 but the ATN,PNG and XML file go in Library>Application Support>Adobe>Photoshop Elements>8.0>Photo Creations

As far as your network goes ... sorry I can't help on that one.

Wendy :)
EDIT .. Path corrected

Hi there, I've had some action problems too, hang in there and hopefully some newer ones will be developed.

Re your printer, how is your printer set up? Wirelessly? Hard wired to the PC?

As regards your network, to have your Mac see your PC you can connect to it as a "server". Specify which folders on the PC you want to access with your Mac and ensure that they have sharing turned on. Next ascertain the IP address of your PC then press CMD+K on your Mac to get the connect to server prompt. Enter the PC's IP address in the box then press connect and you should be then able to browse those folders on your PC. Bear in mind that whilst you can open and drag things across to your Mac, due to hard drive formatting differences you'll not be able to save anything from your Mac to the PC.
