The automatic updater couldn't complete the update for RAW so I can't look at the CR2 images from my Canon.

Arda, hello! Which Canon model are you using? The camera model determines which version of the ACR plug-in is required.
It's possible to manually download and install the ACR plug-in; as a matter of fact, I just did it about 30 minutes ago. Will provide a link if you'd care to give it a go after determining which one you need.

Chuck, The automatic updater does not work. Go to the Adobe site and D/L the appropriate ACR version for the version of Elements you have. Read the installation instructions VERY CAREFULLY!

Jeff, I did see that the OP was having trouble with the automatic updater; that's why I suggested the manual approach. I've never used the auto updater; not even sure how it gets activated....

The dang updater tries periodically on the mac. Never works. I just use it as a heads up I have a new version to manually download and install.

I can understand the need for the updater - not everyone wants to go through the search for the right file among all those folders. However, I personally like to have a degree of control over what changes are made to program files and folders; the updater concept scares me....
