Update on Kloskowski book?

:confused:I just bought Matt Kloskowski's book, Photoshop Elements 5 Restoration and retouching. What a really great book.
Do you know if he is planning an updated one for 7 or 8 or 9?

Hi Bobbie,

In most cases the techniques for something like photo restoration would be the same in whichever version of Elements you have, so I there wouldn't really be that much to update for a newer version. I have that book and it's still valuable information applicable to any version of Elements.

I just bought a book on photo restoration called "Focus Guide Photoshop: Repair and Restore Photos." It's not a full sized magazine but I got it at the magazine rack of Barnes and Noble before leaving on a trip. It's a UK publication, was $16.99 and includes a CD. I read it on the plane but haven't had time to load the CD, which has sample files and program demos.

Check your local B & N or Borders for it. It's very comprehensive and detailed and will work with PSE as well. It looks like you can order it from the link below.

I wasn't voicing any complaints about Matt Kloskowski's book, Photoshop Elements 5 Restoration and retouching. Just the opposite. I love it.
I just didn't want to tell my daughter to get it if a new one was about to come out.Right now Amazon has it at less than 1/2 price and I thought that might be an indication that a new one was on the way.I agree with Diane that it has a wealth of information that still works great on E7.

I don't believe he is doing any updates to the Restoration book; I do know he just finished writing his E8 update to Photoshop Elements for Digital Photographers, though.

As Diana noted, the techniques used in restoration are pretty straightforward, and haven't changed much with the release of E6-8.

I love Matt's book ... it has some great techniques in it, he explains things in such a good way and makes it really easy to follow along :)
