I just got a canon rebel xt. I use elements 4.0. I can't download right from the camera into orginizer, but i can bring in and view RAW images inside the orginizer. I save both RAW and JPEG images on my camera and can download both formats with the software that came with the camera, "zoom browser". I then have to manualy copy the images from a temp folder to a folder that use and then tell orginzer to get the images from that folder. I can then view and tag both the RAW and JPEG images as I want. This is a clumsy way of doing things. Is there a way to download both RAW and JPEG directly into orginizer ?:

I've used RAW a little and I noticed that same issue and I'm using PSE3. It doesn't seem to see the raw files on the camera; just JPEG.
So like you I use the canon provided software and download, but then can get the raw files in organizer or file browser either one.
Does seem to be a long way around. I'll have to test this some more when I take raw again.

Will and Geordie,
I am able to import RAW and JPEG directly into the Organizer without any problems, though I do use a card reader as opposed to hooking the camera up to the computer. They are a great liitle tool, available for under 20 bucks provided that your computer has a PCMCIA slot. Just slide the memory card into the reader and insert into the computer. It appears as an additional drive in the OS.

OK, I can try that using one of my HP Printers which has card readers and acts like a drive. So now I'll need to shoot some raw to see if that will work. Thanks for the idea.

I have a Canon 350D (Digital Rebel XT)... I use a card reader as Norm suggested rather than connect the camera to the PC and it works fine with RAW and JPEG images.

I have been downloading the same way, that is by using the card reader.
Yesterday I took my new 20D out for a test spin and shot in RAW only. When I opened the files and tried to save them as a JPEG, JPEG was not on the list of choices for saving. JPEG 2000 was there but not JPEG. So I saved them in TIFF. I have since tried it in RAW + JPEG with the same result. The RAW files have the file extension CR2. Anybody got any ideas why JPEG is not available using Camera RAW?

Hi Bill,
Are you using Adobe Camera RAW? I'm having no trouble saving my RAW files to JPEG. Also using a Canon camera generating CR2 files. Hmmm?

I have a 20D also. Just import them as cr2. Then when you click on them it will bring up the program to let you set the properties for each and save it in many file formats includeing jpeg. You can use Canon's program or PSE.

Hi Michael and Norm:
Well just another senior moment I guess. Does a big Doh! make any sense.
As I was doing my usual thinking in the shower this morning it struck me that I had tried to use Camera Raw in the 16 bit/channel mode, remembering that the resulting conversion cannot be saved in JPEG. So I went back and redid the image in 8 bits/channel the JPEG option became available. Note, however, that even in 16 bits/channel you can use the save for web mode and get a small JPEG.
Now where did I put my Ginko Biloba?:)

Wendy:
I have uploaded a couple of pictures from yesterday to my gallery. The question about the link was how to use HTML to set up a link to the gallery, as you have done.

Hi Bill ...
Now I understand :)
Click on User CP at the top of the page then on Edit Signature and copy and paste this into it:
[333url=http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/gallery/viewgallery.php?user=xxxx] My Gallery[/url]
Where it says My Gallery type in what you want to show in your signature.
Now remove the 333 and where it says xxxx type in your user number. Make sure that you don't add any extra spaces ..
To find your user number ... click on Access my Gallery then click on "Share my Gallery" and you see the user number there.
Hope this helps ...
Wendy
