Over 2,000 free brushes in one download:
http://www.adamwoodhouse.co.uk/?p=4
I have no idea if they are high resolution or not... I'm still downloading them.... I'll post back.
Diana
Edit: I did check some of them out... some are high resolution and some are medium, all different kinds of brushes... some good... some mediocre. There are quite a few good grunge brushes. I would advise not installing them, but keeping them in a separate folder to load and use when needed. Instructions to do that here: http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showpost.php?p=336234&postcount=3

I noticed the brushes have a .rar extension. Can they be used in Elements? If so, how does it differ from .abr?

Suzanne,
The .rar extension means the file has been compressed. It is a parallel concept to files that have been compressed with the .zip algorithm -- only different.
You'll have to use a de-compression program that handles .rar files to extract the brushes from the archive.

Thanks Byron. Windows won't extract it. Do you know what program will extract it?

Suzanne,
I do not know off the top of my head - but here's what Google has to say (http://www.google.com/search?q=rar+extraction&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a).

Thanks Diana! I downloaded one of the small sets and they will be great for making grunge and patterned backgrounds!

I love this little free program.... Unzip Them All:
http://www.brothersoft.com/unzipthemall-64456.html
It does unzip RAR files, but the best part is it will unzip multiple compressed files (even of different types) all at once. You just point it to a folder with compressed files and it lists all compressed files, then you click start and it does its work.

hi Diana!
Just went on the site you recommended but unfortunately it does not include the 'latest and greatest' Vista program. I did get a message from my anti-virus program that this site is not safe to be on so I guess it is just as well.

That's weird... I have Norton 360 and it doesn't give me any warnings... I downloaded Unzip Them All from that site and have used it a long time with no problems.
