I have used Nikon PP and Transfer since I got my D80 several years ago.
My Wife has a Nikon P&S also.

It seems that the Nikon programs are not compatible with the new Snow Leopard.

While I will be buying the new PSE 8 can someone direct me to where or tell me how to use PSE to upload my pictures from the camera.

Or if there is a PSE program to download or buy.

You don't need elements for this. The mac comes with Image capture which you can use to do this. In Snow Leopard you can even tell image capture to behave differently for each device you connect. Just plug in your camera or reader then launch Image capture and go to the preferences to set how you want to do this.
