I paid for a 2yr subscription at the elements seminar this year in new york. when i clicked on the subscriber area it asked me to login. no problem, i just went to my little black book of passwords and ids and put in the subsciber id and it said that i'm expired. when i called customer service they said they won't reopen until Monday, October 3rd???????????

what a way to start the new year

Yes, it seems none of us are subscribers anymore. :( There's a couple of threads going about this. I'm sure it will all be resolved on Tues. when everyone gets back to work.

What a coincidence! Everyone's being told their membership has expired . . . and mine REALLY DID! I was having the same problems as everyone else, then looked at my profile and found that I expired on 12/29! Oh MY! I just renewed, but the new code they gave me doesn't work either :(

Wendy,

Do let me know how you get on with the book...:)

I'm working through those prints... some of them aren't in very good condition. Along with the prints I also found my old Canon AE-1...

I think that the problem maybe that the Subscriber Area opened on New Years Eve 2004 ... Ummm I wonder what was built into the coding for expiry dates :)

Canon AE-1...

My brother still has his and he uses it on occasions. But lately, he's lurking for digital... It's gonna be another Canon, that's for sure!

Ray,

The AE-1 was my first Canon and I've had Canon ever since... I really tempted to get a roll of film and give it a run out...

The Canon AE-1 was also his first Canon and that is also what has got me hooked on the Canon brand (and the 35mm format). I started later with a SureShot 70.

Sorry Ray I though said you are shooting film and then I read you are useing a Canon so I suspect you ment to say you were playing at photography.

Well, if you mean by playing that I'm having fun while making great pictures, yes you could say that. Should have I used this other brand, for sure, it would have been boring, and no playing because fixing pictures that should have been good in the first place is no fun... :D

I actually just went over there-was asked to login (luckily I remembered where I'd written the password down!) and logged in ok. What a weird couple of days...

I imagine some folks won't have the same fortunate event of getting logged in. Paul in another thread explained this JINX and when I finally dug up my subscriber code it accepted it so things are getting back to right.

Well there is still one area that I can't access -- My Gallery -- the browser remembered the username and password but it is not recognized. So is anyone else still OUT of their Gallery?:(

Wendy

Hi Will ...

I can get into mine OK ...

I just wonder if it is remembering your user name and password from another part of the site ... its just that my Username is different on my Gallery (OK that was an accident :) )

OK, I'll do some digging around and find the information -- it has to be printed somewhere because I've taken to printing all those things out so I can find them when needed.:)

OK just a matter of entering the password again and everything is now OK for me. Thanks for the idea Wendy.

Hi all,
I've been busy taking photos have not checked the forums in a while but as long as subscription issues are on the table for discussion, can someone please tell me how often the Elements magazine is published? (the magazine states 8x per year) Since I subscribed in late September, I received one issue (Vol. 2 #7) and that is it - and that one only by complaining to customer service. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it necessary to call customer service for each issue-maybe there is something I do not understand about receiving the actual magazine.
Thanks in advance,
Beryl

Hi Beryl ...

The first issue always takes quite a while to be sent out but generally after that it arrives OK ..

Vol. 2 #8 has now started shipping ... some people have it but some don't. I would suggest that you wait a week or so and then if it still hasn't arrived then phone Customer Services again.

I suspect that you won't need to ... as I'm sure it will be on its way to you.
