Hi,

I have search the forums for a solution to this problem, but I think lack of correct 'english words' are the problem. I really dont have the vocab. for doing a correct search...

So here is som 'prosa' regarding the problem:
When starting PRE7 three (or four) 'banners' are shown in the first splash-screen with different tips etc. Theese banners are not shown and instead I see a large gray area with the "NEW", "OPEN" etc in the top.

How can I reestablish these images/banners? (without reinstalling by PRE7 which currently runs after quite alot of bugs).

When you start the Premiere Elements 7 and are in the opening Splash Screen, you should see:

To left: Panel for Photoshop.com free or subscriber information

To the right of that Photoshop.com information, should be a large colored picture with Photoshop.com promotional information. If you do see that, go to the bottom right and look for two small arrows, one = previous and the other = next. Click on that to see if you can return the Tips and Tricks panel that should go underneath the large colored picture.

What are the options that you are given in the opening Premiere Elements 7 screen....
Instant Movie + Open + New Project???

If you open Photoshop Elements 7, what do you see?
It is interesting...in Photoshop Elements 7, you should see

To left: Panel for Photoshop.com free or subscriber information

the large colored picture but the Tips and Tricks Panel underneath does not have any previous and next arrows.

BUT, if you click on the large colored picture, you now see previous and next arrows at the bottom right of the large colored picture for use in the display in the large colored picture area.

Please let me know if the above is the case, if not we will explore this further.

I did a simple reinstall and the images where back. It is simply some images saved in the installation folder that where missing.

Thanks for the update.

By the way, have you seen my writeup on how to bybass the Premiere Elements 8 Welcome Screen? The revelation came about due to the observation of Ozpeter at the Adobe Forum where I have a thread running there on my Premiere Elements 8 First Looks.

"For those interested in details, these are the details that I used to bypass the Premiere Elements 8 Welcome Screen, thanks to the observation and follow up of Ozpeter. There may be variations along the route, but this worked for me.

1. Right click the Premiere Elements 8 shortcut that the installation process places on your Desktop.
2. Select Properties, and, in the Properties Dialog, click on Find Target.
3. Find Target will take you to Program Files/Adobe Premiere Elements/8.0 where you will see the file "Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0.exe" highlighted.
4. Right next to the "Adobe Premiere Elements 8.0.exe" file is a file named "Adobe Premiere Elements.exe".
5. Right click the "Adobe Premiere Elements.exe" file and select "Create Shortcut".
6. You can cascade the Windows if you like and drag the "Create Shortcut" icon to the Desktop. (I guess you could do this with a copy/paste also)
7. Continue to use this new Adobe Premiere Elements 8 shortcut if you want to bypass the Welcome Screen when opening Premiere Elements 8.
