Wendy, wasn't me!! :mad: I just plain gave up yesterday. You know the more you can't log in the more you want to!! I ended up loosing all my unread threads because I just couldn't stand it anymore. And replying to any............well that was an exercise in patience to be sure!!

This is starting to be a regular Friday and Monday thing.

Happy New Years everyone. We aren't going anywhere (thank goodness because it's snowing like crazy out now!!) My daughter is having her boyfriend and a friend over and it will be game night. Tomorrow (weather permitting) we will attend my brother in laws open house which is always fun.

Hey guess what? Everyone remembers the massive amount of photographs in my gallery, ALL GONE! Can't log into the subscribers area and now my precious photo's have been stolen:eek: . Now I have to start all over again, well a little bit anyway since I did save the originals. Personally, I think it's a new MAC VIRUS:eek: . Just a theory, could be. I'm suspicious of MACS from the East. Happy New Year everyone.

Well, my face is red :o . I couldn't get into the subscriber area, and figured it was related to the other site problems we've been experiencing. However, I got to looking at things and found out that my subscription expired on 12/29! I hadn't yet renewed it! So I ran right out and renewed, but the new code they gave me still isn't letting me into the subscriber area :confused: . I wonder if my procrastination will cause me to go back to junior member???? And if my gallery will disappear? And if I'll miss any copies of the magazaine. :eek: I can't believe I did that!

Wendy, I'm seeing a theme here!! Nope, can't access, cause I'm no longer a member. :( But at least my pictures didn't all disappear!
It's going to be a very depressing long weekend if we loose the forums too!! I'll actually have to do something else instead! (like take down the tree, pay attention to my family, have a shower---- so far after sitting here for a quick look, 2 kids have jumped in the shower and had their turn. I'll probably get a cold shower and it's all your fault! :D I mean the forums fault. :eek: )

Before we all go on a ghost chase.. the site might be running out of a backup, so that explains why not everything is working this morning.

I'm thankful that we have the forum back... I was having withdrawal syndrome big time... I couldn't use my Wacom because my hands were shaking too much. I decided to baked scrambled eggs instead (got to put the disadvantage to my advantage... lol!)

I had the same problem this morning . I wanted to uplod a couple of dog pix and I couldn't get on. I figure the dog lovers will unite over this.:)

Wendy. I am still thinking about going x-c skiing but my skiing buddy came down sick and it is a 5 hour drive each way (over a 4000 foot pass with heavy snow). So stand by cuz I still want to take thosepix with the new lens/camera.

Seriously, I never actually shot with Nikon, nor do I know any one close to me with a Nikon. I've almost bought one, a small 4xxx model (or something alike), but then, when the salesman and I chatted about our other cameras, he learned I have a 10D. He immediately suggested another Canon, rather than a Nikon. I suspect he didn't want me to either hate my new toy or become tormented for the rest of my life.. (Being somewhat still young, that would have been a long long time..lol!)

In 2006, I need to actually try one for real, to know what is it I don't like about the Nikon. Or become great friend with Grant, and sell my Canon gears altogether :D

I really looked at the D70 last year when I bought my Rebel. I did like it, in the end for me, it came down to the price. The Canon was on sale for a few hunderd dollars less (maybe $450). That is a lot of money for me, so I took the Canon. No regrets at all. But to be honest I would have been happy with the D70 as well. Just don't tell Grant.:D :D

I have seriously shot with both.

In the hands of inexperienced photographers there is virtually no difference. In the hand of an experienced photographer there are just different ways of approaching the same subject. I choose Nikon for my dSLR because I am very familiar with Nikon SLRs. I choose Canon as my pocket size camera because it was the only one in that particular size and price range that had all the overrides I demand in a camera.

I like to pull Ray's leg about Canons because ... he hasn't succumbed the Nikon Holy Grail of cameras yet.
