OK, I'm an idiot

I just received the new issue of Elements Techniques and want to use your Orb Action. It looks very cool, thanks.

My computer is a Mac, and I upgraded to Snow Leopard. I [rarely] use PSE V6 so I am almost a beginner.

Your zip file has the .atn file, an .rtf file and a .psd file. Per your suggestion I watched Grant's video to see how to install the action. I am confident the .atn file is in the right place, but I don't know what the .psd file is for, or where it goes. What is the purpose of the .psd file and where does it go? Grant mentions only .xml files in addition to the .atn file.

When I launch PSE I am not seeing the Orb Action in the Effects "palette". Am I looking in the wrong place? What did I do wrong?

Hi Hector ...

Those instructions with the Orb are for PSE3 ... :(

Kev kindly wrote an xml file and converted the psd file to a png file for use in PSE6 ... attached are the xml and png files he did.

To install just use these instructions

Place the action and png files in this folder:

Library\Application Support\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Photo Creations\Photo Effects

Next place the xml files file in this folder:

Library\Application Support\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Locale\ en-US or your own locale>Photo Creations Metadata>Photo Effects

Next rename the Mediadatabase.db3 to MediadatabaseOLD.db3 (it is located at Library\Application Support\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Locale\ en-US) and restart Elements ... the Mediadatabase.db3 will rebuild but you may have to wait a while for it to do so
