I have a 4x6 dye-sub printer connected to my computer, and want to print two wallet-size images on a single 4x6 sheet of paper. I cannot figure out any way of doing this in PSE using Organizer/print multiple images.

Picture package seems to only support letter-size paper, not 4x6, regardless of printer/page setup settings; also, it seems to be impossible to re-orient invididual images as either portrait or landscape in picture package -- you're stuck with the orientations it chooses.

I finally completed this printing task using Picasa, and it was very simple; but it seems to be impossible using PSE -- or am I missing something?

John, are you using PSE 4? If so, instead of using the Picture Package option, use the Contact Sheet. It'll give you a choice of papers and layouts that should include your stated choice.

I've tried all Organizer print options -- including contact sheet -- with both PSE3 and PSE4. Best I can tell, none allow specifying duplicate copies of an image on 4x6 paper; also, there's no option to specify the vertical/horizontal orientation of individual images. I'm surprised that the hyped Organizer print options are so limited!

Adobe don't make it easy but it can be done. The layouts for picture package are stored in a folder called Layouts in the Shared_Assets folder. You'll also find a folder called layouts_readmes there that has a ReadMe.txt that explains how to make customs layouts - you can specify page size and where the images are to be placed on the page.

I must admit that I haven't made a custom one in PSE3 but I did it in my PSE1 and 2 days and it worked fine - just takes a bit of figuring to get the positions on the page right.

OK, I think I got it to go.

1. In the Print Selected Photos dropdown, select your printer. Click on the page icon and choose your paper type and size (e.g., 4x6)
2. In the Select Type of Print, select Individual Prints

3. In Select Print Size and Options, fill out the individual boxes:Print Size: Either Actual if you've edited it to the size you want or one of the stock sizes (e.g., 2.1 x 2.8)
One photo per page: unchecked
Use Each Photo ___ times: Fill in (e.g., 2)
Crop to fit: Unchecked

4. Print

Cumbersome, but I think it will do what you want.

I was doing some CD jacket inserts for gift certs. for Christmas, and made a 2 up on 8.5x11 template. It seemed to work fine, but I did have to check the "crop to fit" button when my picture wasn't the right size.
