New to Premier 4. Moving over from Studio 12. Is there a razor tool for doing quick cuts in the timeline. I know about the trimming tool that I can use by sliding the tool left or right but can not find a simple razor tool to "cut".
Any help greatly appreciated.

Using the Timeline View
Look to the bottom right of the Edit Mode Monitor
You should see 3 icons (left to right)
Scissors looking icon called Split Clip (keyboard shortcut Ctrl K)
T for "Add default text"
Camera looking icon called Freeze Frame (keyboard shortcut Shift F)
Set you Timeline Indicator where you want the cut and then click on the Split Clip icon.
In earlier versions, in addition there was an icon for a Razor Tool that you could click on, have your mouse cursor turn into a razor looking icon, and then used the Razor to cut the video (usually best if you expanded the Timeline to see the frames better). As soon as you finished using the Razor Tool, it was best to click on the Timeline Selection Tool to get out of the Razor Tool mode, thus preventing any cutting accidents.
In current versions, that additional is gone BUT you can still summon the Razor Tool (in hiding), by pressing the letter c on the keyboard. The cursor turns into a Razor and same as above. To get out of the Razor mode, click the letter v on the keyboard to get back to the Selection Tool Mode.
Please let me know if that works for you.
