Hi
I just got an R19OO and Elements but am having paper issues. (Which I don't have with Aperture) Basically, I can see my icc profiles after I set 'Elements Manages" in the color management dialogue. (I see my third party and Epson ones) But when I then choose print, the print dialogue shows all my old Epson papers I used to see, (matte heavy weight, Glossy, Photo paper) not the new selection I now see in Aperture. )Glossy, Matte, Fine Art and their respective sub-menus.

I definitely have the right printer selected. Have downloaded latest updates etc.

Does anyone have any ideas? My Aperture prints look fabulous, but Elements, not so much! Which is a big problem...

thanks

for my 1900 - I let my printer manage the color - I seem to get all the papers that I expect to see and the colors are more accurate to what is on the screen.

Thanks Bruce
I tried system manage and the prints were flat. to say the least. But again, I couldn't choose the actual paper type as it was missing from the dialogue box...am stumped.

When I get to the first Print screen (in Elements) - on the right hand side under Color Management I have:
Color Handling: Printer Manages Colors
Rendering Intent: Relative Colorimetric

After that when the Epson print screen comes up - the papers that I use are there - at least for me. Not sure what is causing your difficulties.

Thanks Bruce. I don't get it. Two applications for photos-both with different dialogue boxes for printing. Making me nuts as I can't risk using the good paper when it isn't there.

njw: did you ever figure this out? I have the same problem with my epson sp r1800. Colors are wrong. I read all the posts about missing color profiles and color profiles needing to be in different folders, but none of those moves helped.
I also wonder if the lack of correct papers matters when that second selection is in the Printer PRINT dialog and the printer is not managing the color profile.
How's your printing?

If you need some more information on colour management and printing take a look at this page on my web site. It will give you the basics behind colour management and tell you what you use for printing. Although biased towards a PC it should still be useful.

As for seeing Profiles and Paper types - Elements will show you the profiles you have available but its the printer driver that shows you the paper types.

Epson only knows about its own paper types but certainly on the R2400 which I have this will change depending on whether or not you have the Photo Black or Matte Black ink cartridge installed. So have you changed this or do the papers you intend to use need the Matte Black ink cartridge.
