It looks to me like you need Photoshop to do this (at least the Amazing Circle portion). Frustrated, once again, if that is so. :(

Shar, you can do this in photoshop elements, give it a try!

Shar you can use Wendys orb tutorial for the first part. I turns out the same.http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?p=331359#post331359

Okay...I made the Amazing Circle with PSE using the PS instructions, but when I try to do part two, I get a message that my cpu doesn't have enough RAM to carry out the procedure. aaarrgghh

Shar, make the orb 3inch x 3 inch size i did use 300 resolution but you can use lower. Then when you go to the 300 percent it wont be so big.

Whew! I finally got it to work: HERE (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=15389&c=5)

Although this is fun, and once again, a thrill to see what PSE can do, I don't see a lot of use for these. Anybody have ideas on ways to use them?

I added a bevel, and inner glow, and a high drop shadow. I wish I could make some realistic-looking dew drops to place on other parts of the flower.

Okay....I answered myself with ONE possibility. I can see that this is how people get hooked on making elements:

Thanks! It was just a matter of duplicating the first one and rotating it vertically, then merging the two. Duplicate the new double one and rotate it...merge the 4, duplicate and rotate. Kinda like the process we went through for making kaleidoscopes from scratch. This is a little more forgiving.

I'm glad this thread was bumped up. This is really a fun technique. I also made a flower from one that I did. There are surely other things to do with them.

OK I get all the way to the point of making the drop and my pc says I do not have enough RAM to do it. Still trying, can't wait to make one.

Post 9 (the answer to my very same question) reads: Shar, make the orb 3inch x 3 inch size i did use 300 resolution but you can use lower. Then when you go to the 300 percent it wont be so big.

Hope that helps.

thanks Martha. Yontz710 when you increase the canvas size by 300 percent it reall makes it big if you did not start off small, i had the same problem at first so do start with a smaller size as in post 9. I had trouble with mine at first also.
