How I would love to have non-printing guide lines that you can pull in from the edge the way you can in Photoshop.
Yes, I know I can create a new layer, put on a grid and make some guide lines. I did that for a poster I just made because I did not want to place anything important too close to the edges which won't print on my printer. I made a border 1/4 inch in from all the sides and it was a great guide. Then I forgot to turn off the eyeball for the guide layer before I printed the poster and 2 sides of my unwanted black line border printed. Lesson learned. I probably won't make that mistake again this week.
So I say again. I'd like non-printing quide lines..

Bobbie,

Take a look at the first post in THIS THREAD (http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38803&highlight=guide+lines+bayla).

Thank you. Jeff's idea is similar but different than what I do and I will try it. I especially liked the last comment in the thread about saving a transparent background .psd file with guide lines to be used over and over.
I'll use this work-around suggestion but I'll still wish for non-printing guides.

Bobbie,

I must admit that although I usually use PSE6, I stiil have PSE3 on my computer and for some reason the guidelines in Grant's Tools are moveable in PSE3 (although Grant himself says that they weren't meant to be!) so whwnever I need moveable guidelines I switch over to PSE3!
