Set up: PSE7 & Windows XP.

Morning,
I'm french, so please excuse my syntax...

Problem:
I wish to radically modify my windows XP explorer photo filiations, but this cannot be done using the 'Displace' function of PSE7 (too long)

Nor can I eliminate the PSE7 original catalogue.

A previous attempt, with PSE4, using dis/re-installation resulted in automatic reload of the previous catalogue and loss of the modified links - une cata

So, how do I eliminate the catalogue and reload a 'virgin' one?
Thank you for your help.:)

I'm not entirely sure of your question, however.

Catalog management is acheived using File > Catalog. In this dialog you can Create, Rename, Repair or Remove Catalogs.

I'm not entirely sure of your question, however.Thank you for the answer.

Unfortunately, one ( I) cannot remove the last ( or original) folder, even by creating another beforehand.

Adobe seems to keep a catalogue in reserve - probably to ensure the transfer/recovery when upgrading the product.

Which is (probably) why I find the same catalogue even after totally removing PSE7 from my computor and then reloading it.

I am thus looking for a way to avoid this automatic recovery.

It doesn't really matter that the old Catalog still remains on your PC. It doesn't actually contain any images, its just a database and doesn't take up much hard disk space.

So, you can just create a new Catalog and start again using this one.

Grand merci,

It works fine - I will just ignore/bypass the original catalogue.

Keep it simple, is a good password!
