Brush Mode Stuck

My brush mode is stuck on darken. It has been stuck since last. I instaled some actions from Coffeeshop but I cannot figure out why that would screw up the brushes. How do I get the menu to drop down again so I can change the mode?

Hi kstad, welcome aboard!

Have you tried to reset the Brush tool? Activate this tool, click the tiny triangle at the left end of the Options bar, and select Reset Tool.

This may sound strange, but it fixes a lot of weird stuff... From the menu, select Edit > Preset Manager - then when the dialog pops up, click Done. Don't know if this will fix your problem, but it's worth a try.

If that doesn't work, reset the preference file by restarting Elements and as soon as you see it start loading, hold down the Shift & Control & Alt keys at the same time. You should see a message saying it's rebuilding.
