After installation I moved PSE 6 for my iMac to a new folder and now I often get the message that something can't find PSE 6 or some other part of the program, so I want to uninstall and reinstall w/o moving the app. The readme text says "To uninstall Photoshop Elements 6, you MUST USE THE INSTALLER'S UNINSTALL OPTION; do not drag the program to the trash to uninstall it."

Problem is I can't find the uninstall option - not even on the installation disk. Any help?

Mike, this courtesy of Wendy:

The uninstaller is in Applications>Utilities ... in a folder called Adobe Installers

The uninstaller is the install disk, only you choose Remove Components rather than Install Components. The one in Utilitles is an emergency back up one, and FWIW Adobe says to use your install disk if you have it and only use that one if you can't.

Mike T:
Follow the thread "Installation help, pretty please! ( 1 2)" as I did and it worked. The procedure is not so straight forward but with a bit of luck you will get it.

Did you save the original download? If so, run the installer from there. If not, go to applications>utilities and there's an emergency uninstaller there. The uninstaller is the installer, only when you get to the screen where you previously chose "Install Components" you choose "Remove Components." However, not everyone is able to get that far. If you have problems, post back.

I have been to the applications part and cannot seem to find an install or an uninstall folder anywhere. Is there anyone who could possibly be able to give me a step by step method of trying to get this sorted. I do not have a disk to install, as i have bought and downloaded the software from adobe. I previously had the trial version working on my system, but now that i want to install the full version, i am not having ANY joy.

I am starting to think that i should have stuck with Windows!!!

Hi ...

Just go into Applications again and look for a folder called Utilities ... inside that is a folder called Adobe Installers. Its inside there.

Anytime you can't find something on the Mac just click on Spotlight (top right of the screen) and type in the name of the file or folder. It will throw up a list ... click on the one you want and it opens the folder for you :)

PS ... This is about the only software that uses this uninstall method. All the rest you just drag and drop them in the trash .. and that does it. Sadly Adobe change the way you uninstall on a Mac when PSE6 came out and its been confusing us Mac users ever since. Unlike Windows users we just are not used to using Uninstallers :D
