Creating a VCD from a slideshow

I wonder has anyone managed to do this? When I open creation wizard it tells me there are no slideshows...and it cannot find any. I do of course have some already created using the same wizard. they are *.pdfs in my documents. Should they be somewhere else to be picked up?

Any clues MOST gratefully received
