I just got back some prints and was discouraged. They were much darker than what I had on screen. Was not sure if it was the shop or my monitor.
I have a MAC OSX and use PSE6. I do not print at home but send it off via email.
How should one calibrate so that the final print matches up to the screen?
Thank you!!

Hi Patricia ..
What sort of Mac do you have and what have you got your screen display set to.
To check the display ... click on the little apple top left then choose System Preference. Click on Displays and then on Colour.

Having your display brightness too high often leads to dark prints as it will lead you to believe the pic is brighter than it really is. Suggest running the mac calibrater under display>color.

Open up system preferences by clicking on the light switch in the dock. Open displays, choose color, click on calibrate and follow the directions.

Be sure to choose gamma 2.2 when calibrating your screen.

Thank you so much for the suggestions. I believe I did calibrate a while back but the comment and adjusting the brightness of my screen may have been the problem..what you see is not what you get necessarily.
I appreciate your help. Thank you!:o

Hi Patricia ...
I though that you may have calibrated before as I didn't recognise the name of the profile you are using.
I don't use the Macs calibrator ... I use SuperCal. I just prefer it :)

Why do you choose 2.2 tv gamma instead of 1.8? All the books I have read say to use 1.8.......I am confused.......
