Masks

I have purchased masks from a well-known digi scrapbooking web site and am unable to use them. Unfortunately, they didn't come w/instructions. They show up in my PSE 5.0 editor w/a white background and when I try to apply the photo, the photo just sits on top of the mask, it doesn't "blend" in. I've tried "control G" as well as trying to use the little "clipping icon" but to no avail. I have no trouble w/the masks in PNG format but don't know what I'm doing wrong w/these masks. I'd appreciate any help.

Try this. Make your background into a layer by holding the ALT key & left double clicking on the background layer. Use the magic wand to highlight the white background & hit delete. Now re-save this as a PNG.
