Ok, I've done my homework in the sense that I've searched here and on Photoshop forums and googled in general for an easy to understand breakdown of the process involved in creating DVD menu's, but I'm still at a loss to understand why I can't find a simple "how to" on this subject.
I own Premiere Elements 7, Photoshop Elements 7 and Photoshop CS4. I have begun to "customize" some of Premiere Elements "stock" menu's with some success. I have a basic understanding of the concept and use of "Layers". As I understand it at this point, a DVD menu is "understood" by Premiere Elements as using a particular "naming" convention (a bit silly in that requirement if you ask me) and then looking for specific "layers" (again designated by + layer naming conventions) in order to generate the various navigation elements.
If any of the above is incorrect, please correct me as I am by no means an "expert" in any of the above apps as they relate to DVD menu's.
But if my understanding of the basic "structure" of DVD menu's (as above) IS correct, they why would it be difficult for someone here (ahem ATR) to create a sticky of how to use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to create DVD menu's from scratch.
I may be way off here in my understanding of the basic elements, and will be happy to accept corrections and criticisms any of you have.
I just think this process should NOT be this difficult.
