Liberty1, search through these links of angel wings. You can also do a search of butterfly wings.

Hi Liberty,
Here are some wings... see if you like any of them. Some are images and some are brushes you can stamp on your image.

Diana,
I downloaded the wing links you posted above, but I don't know how to include the brushes files in my list. Could you please help me with that?
Thanks,
Terry

To load Brushes that ou download, try this:
1) Select your Brush Tool
2) Click on the top of the menu bar where you can select a brush tip.
3) When you click it, at the top right is a double-arrow icon. Click it.
4) Another menu will pop up. At the bottom is load brushes.
5) Select Load Brushes. Then a Window will pop up. Search for the set of brushes you want to load. You can then use the brushes.

Thanks, Johnny, I followed your instructions and they worked perfectly!
Now I just have to get the wing placement correct and figure out how to erase the sections that shouldn't be showing. Any advice?

Hi Terry,
Stamp your wings on a blank layer above the subject. I put each wing on its own layer until I get them sized and position just right, then I merge the two wing layers. You can then lower the opacity of the wing layer so you can better see the subject, then erase the parts of the wing over the subject... I would use a hard-edged brush so you don't have any transparent edges where the wings meet the subject. If you inadvertently erase too much, you'll have to use Ctrl-Z to undo back to your boo-boo and start again.
A better, and non-destructive way is to mask the wings. Here are the steps for that.
Stamp the wings on blank layers, resize & position them, then with the top wing layer active, press Ctrl-E to merge the wing layers.
Make the subject layer active, then click the Create Adjustment Layer icon (half white/half back circle) which opens a menu, select Levels, then just click OK. This gives you a layer with a white mask attached to it.
Make the wings layer active (which should be the top layer), then press Ctrl-G. This will "group" the wings layer with the masked adjustment layer.
Click on the mask to make that layer active. Get the Brush tool with a hard-edged brush (one in which the brush icon has a sharp, rather than fuzzy edge).
Zoom way in on the wing area and lower the opacity of the wing layer, if needed, so you can see exactly where the edges of the subject are.
With the mask layer active and with Black and White as your foreground and background colors, "paint" on your image where you want the wings removed.
The best part of using this method is, if you make a mistake, just press X to make White your foreground color and "paint" the wings back in where you took too much off. Black removes and White puts back. The X key toggles the black and white to the foreground.
Hope this works for you.

Hi Diana,
Before I saw your great directions, I used a different method - but your's sounds better! I'll have to try it and see if I get better results with it.
What I ended up doing was creating a duplicate layer of the photo. Stamping the wings and correcting the placement.
Created another duplicate layer of the original. Used the magic extractor and cut out the girl, copied her to a new layer above the one with the wings.
It seems to have worked out alright. I'll try to figure out how to post the image here and see what you think. Perhaps you can share posting instructions? I've done it before, but it was a long time ago and I've forgotten.
Thanks,
Terry
