I tried to install these crop presets in PSE 6 but I haven't been able to do it. Following the instructions, the preset manager can't find the .TPL file when I point to the folder where it is located.

Am I out of luck?

Hi Mike ...

Those are designed for Photoshop ... are you using Photoshop or Elements ??

Photoshop is able to load and use a lot things via the preset manager than Elements is

Mike, not sure there is a way to get them into PSE, but I wanted to point out that setting the resolution @ "whatever" as part of the crop will actually trigger a resampling (either adding pixels or throwing them away), and frankly that something I try to avoid as much as possible. I simply use the standard presets for cropping (e.g., 5X7) without setting the resolution, and depending upon the crop may yield a higher or lower PPI count, but almost always within acceptable print standards.

OK. Thanks Jeff and Wendy. I'll move on to something else. :-)

I have made up my own set of crop presets, to add metric crops, in Photoshop CS and have replaced the "Default ELTool Presets.tpl" in PSE 5 and 7 with that I created in CS.

The path for "Default ELTool Presets.tpl" in PSE 5 is:-

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 5.0\Required

I think the path for PSE 7 is similar (PSE 6 is), at least on an XP system (not at my PSE 7 machine at present to check)

I will see if I can use "Crop tool.tpl" next time I am at my PSE 7 machine.

Tried to get "Crop Tool.tpl" into PSE 7. No joy; just placing in the same path as "Default ELTool Presets.tpl" as expect does nothing.

So if you want additional crop presets in PSE use my method.
