I have an one year old iMac and have iPhoto, Lightroom 2 and Elements 6.0 on it. Here is my problem. Normally I have photos loaded into iPhoto then have preferences send any photo to edit to Elements. That always goes well. I also have Master Pictures folder setup on desktop and I send my adjusted pictures to the folder Master Pictures when I am done. From there I can go into iPhoto and transfer the pictures back into iPhoto. HERE IS THE PROBLEM-- Sometimes when I access the folder Master Pictures it shows some of the files in a faint grey lettering and some in dark print. I cannot move the faint grey lettering pictures anywhere, only those printed in dark black letters. What am I doing wrong?

Hi ...
Are the greyed out file names duplicates of others in the folder ... and what is their file ending (jpg, psd etc) ??
Wendy :)
PS ... If you had have just been seeing one in there I would have said that it was the small file that Bridge creates to show which order the images in a file are to be displayed.

All the files have separate names. Last night I experimented with the pictures and found that if I made the files smaller I could access them and use them with other files. Maybe I found the problem. Thanks

Hi ...
That sounds very strange ... how did you manage to open them to make them smaller ??

The pictures I was working on were in Lightroom 2.0 and I used Export and it had a slider to reduce the size of the photo and that is what I used in transferring it to Master Pictures. I then opened PTLens and dragged and dropped the photo from Master Pictures to PTlens and it went well. The pic was a Jpeg as all the files were. Haven't had a chance to do it again to see if it continues working but we will see. Thanks

After working with images in Lightroom and PE6, I found that if the size of the file is smaller it can be moved from my desktop folder..Master Pictures to other programs. Thanks for all of your help.
