Photo basket weaving effect.

Does anyone know where a tut for a the basket weaving effect on a photo is? PSE7.

Judy I went to the site to download the effects and when I did I don't get all the effects. The weave and video wall aren't there when I download the set.

I happened to go on that same site today and download. Unfortunately the weaving and the other effect are the only two that are for photoshop not elements :(

Graffi has a set of special effect actions that includes Weaver that does that effect. It's not free, but it's well worth the price for 65 actions in the set.... and it's self-installing.

I was able to do the Photo Weaving effect from the tutorial at the link Diana provided at http://photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/photo-strips/

I did this photo about a year ago. It was writeen for the full version of Photoshop, but it can be done with a few tweaks. Go ahead and try it and if you have any trouble, just ask.

Hi Wendy, Yes, I got that far, but I see no download link unless one is first expected to go through the whole add to basket and checkout process which seems awkward for a free offering.

it is a bit cumbersome, but it protects my bandwidth: hotlinkers nearly killed me a few years ago by posting direct download links on forums & mailing lists, so I had to go with this method.

Guess it's not my day. Downloaded the file and unzipped and clicked the sampler.exe file and then Install 'em. The Effects are nowhere to be found that I can see in my PSE 7 running on WIN XP even when clicking Show All.

Simenon - restart Elements - it takes just a little while for the internal Database to build, and if you start too soon, you won't give it a chance to update. They will appear in the Effects palette, under a new menu in Special Effects.

Hi, Jean - - not really, since it's embedded in the installer. :( You could install the sampler & just remove the other effects, though - then if you want the weaver action in a different category, you can edit the .xml.

Hi Graffi - I have run Install 'em 3 times and the Effects simply do not show up. I even checked my old PSE 4 installation on the off chance they strayed into a wrong folder somewhere, but they are not to be found there either.

What are some precise file names I can do a search on to locate them?

Thanks for your reply, Graffi. I downloaded the folder for PSE, but weave did not come up. I was going to just save that. Then I saw someone said that Weave was not for Elements, right? Jean

Thanks, Judy, that is what I thought. Perhaps Graffi will be kind and do one for 5.0. I really do not want to upgrade, but am finding a lot of the downloads are now for 6.0 and above. Remember those with 4.0 and 5.0. Jean

In PSE 7, they'll be in here:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\7.0\Photo Creations\photo effects

The files are Weaver-S.atn, Weaver-S.png & Weaver-S.metadata.xml

You may need to manually rebuild your database - that will definitely get them visible.

[Ok i know this looks nothing like the basket weave but trust me i started with the basketweave. Hope you like it even if its different. ( i used Graffis action). The box i made first and turned it into the bottles.

Thanks Wendy i saved about 4 psds along the way so i can maybe see how i went from one to the other it is hard to believe that one if morphed from the other . PSE still amazes me!:D
