I am working on a MAC, and while I'm always able to minimize the window of whatever program I'm viewing, for some reason I can't do that with Elements 6. The window takes up my entire screen with no room to get to the bottom right corner to make the window smaller. I would imagine there is a simple solution to this problem but I just can't figure it out!!!! Any suggestions?

Hi ...

Sadly you can't minimize it ..

... however go into Photoshop Elements>Preferences>General and uncheck Fill Workspace. Then restart Elements ... you will now have space in the middle to view things through.

Also, if you have more than one program open (i.e. PE, a tutorial, iPhoto--whatever) you can hit the F3 button on your keyboard and that will spread your programs out (also called Expose') on your desktop and you can choose whichever one you want.

You can also set one of your mouse buttons to do the same thing, if you'd like.

I have discovered that if I click on the desktop showing beneath my Elements window, that the window disappears. . . and returns upon clicking on the Dock icon. The program remains open. It is wierd, though!

That's one of many nice things of using a Mac.
Did you know that you can reduce the size of the desktop icons and folders by going to View>Show View Options
Here you can adjust size of icon on your desktop so they don't take up so much space.
