What with it being the 50th aniversary of the Moon Landing conspiracy, do you think Google will release Google Moon?

Perhaps it will also include - Crater View and Moon Map

...the 50th aniversary of the Moon Landing conspiracy...Colin,

What with NASA going public, recently, about no longer having the original data/video tapes, the conspiracists should be especially emboldened!

(btw -- it's only 40)

No, the conspiracy is 50 years old. Disney studios starting planning the aledged Moonshots some 10 years earlier.

It was really Pluto's idea that Donald Duck should make the first televised steps onto the synthetic planet. The reason being that his garbled voice would add authenticity to the supposed Moon transmissions.

Mickey Mouse was assigned as the LEM pilot and Pinocchio the Control Module pilot, since he had a nose for navigation data.

Ok - you're right it was a slip of the digit. Can you remember where you were at the time?

I was an Engineering Student in my 2nd year and we had plenty of lab equipment which we could watch the landing on.

So your theory was that it was Gyro Gearloose who orchestrated the whole concept, they should have woken sleeping beauty out of "Stasis" for that shot, but hey back to important things 40 years - Man we are OLD!,

Hey will Google use the abandoned moon buggies for the Crater view? LOL

I was in the maternity ward at Framingham Union Hospital (Massachusetts) giving birth to our 5th child, a daughter. NO....I did NOT....name her LUNA! Other people gave that name to their daughters, however.

I remember it was in the middle of the night, and I walked down to the nurses station to see this on a little TV someone brought in for the occasion. Those were the days before someone got the bright idea to put a TV in every room. So our last child just turned 40...you think you are old???

I would like to have the Hassleblad camera(s) that were left on the lunar surface. Of course my wife (and other people I know) thinks the whole thing was done inside a warehouse. Sometimes I think they may be right.
It has been 40 years. Why have we not gone back in 40 years??? Perhaps we never really did go to the moon in the first place!

Ok, I will get off my soap box!

I was grade school-aged, and have vague memories of being allowed to stay up to watch it on TV (what time did it happen? Maybe I'm just imagining the "staying up late" part...)

No they went!
I was on a plane in Australia once(He must have been doing a lecture tour), one seat behind Collins as he was explaining, to the person next to him as he circumnavigated the Moon while the others grabbed the gory, his ability to describe the moon, especially the dark side, wasn't made up! I never wanted that flight to end, believe it or not I kept quiet, (didn't want to break the spell). Yes America dropped the ball with that one but now it is up to the International Community to pick it up and run with it.

Gates has got the cash, just no imagination on what the future means, they have to get a few billion of us off this world to give it a chance to recover, and prevent us having all our eggs in the one basket. If I had Bills money I would give it all to be able to fly out past Saturn and Jupiter just like Voyager did, and I wouldn't need to come back, seeing that would be ENOUGH!

Where are the UFO's when I really need one. - Your soapbox is tiny.
