I wish I would have taken a photo of this...

When we were in Yosemite a couple of weeks back, we got stopped by a "bear jam". Everyone was lined up by the side of the road, cars abandonded, to photograph a baby bear in a meadow. Most people had cameras of some sort or another, a few people were using cell phones, but one young lady was brandishing her Apple laptop, taking pix with the built-in web cam. Hmmmmmm. Quick thinking, I guess

Here's a picture of the bear. I should have also taken a photo of the girl with her laptop-cam...

Awww, Yogi is so cute. It's boggling to think of someone pointing a laptop at that. one good tip I've seen a bunch of times is to always turn around after taking a shot...

Val Do not take Ellen's advice (It may work in some instances) but NEVER turn your back on a BEAR - Where was Momma Bear and Papa Bear , out looking for Goldilocks - I Think NOT!
LOL Great Anecdote and let that be a lesson to us all, you got the cute bear but missed the award winning shot as Apple would have paid a Motza for that snap.

Nice shot, Val! He's a bit more scruffy looking than those glossy tourist brochures make them look. And is he wearing a tracking collar?

An in the wild bear. And a moose. On my "to see" list.

The girl with the laptop would have made a great 365 theme!!

Yogi, named by Ellen, is posing for all of the tourists. Aren't you glad you had your camera!!

The little guy is wearing a tracking collar. His left ear looks tagged, also.

We saw him a couple of other mornings...never a mama in sight. We drove by the spot nearly every day on our way to hiking and the road block signs and orange cones were always just off the road, as if waiting for his appearance. I'm thinking there might not have BEEN a mama, and the rangers were keeping an eye on baby Yogi with the collar, the tag, and the traffic patterns.
