i'm looking at a budget 80-200 ef Canon lens, there is a choice of two..
the straight 80-200 or the Mrk II..

what would you get?? and why please

oh yeah, nearly forgot,its for a crop 1.6 factor.

Welcome to the Village :) I know you are not totally new, but this is my first time to "meet" you.

What camera body do you own? I am thinking the MkII will be a newer version that will be better.

You mentioned one of the lenses (or maybe both) are 1.6 crop factor lenses. Is your camera body also a 1.6 body?

I am sure some other more knowledgeable folks will give you there 2 cents worth also.
