I have an opportunity to be a photographer at our local block party. I was wondering if someone could tell me what program(s) can be used to take photos with the camera connected to a laptop. I have seen them in some shopping malls, they make photo cups and such. It seems when you want someone like this they are never around. I wasn't sure where else to post this question.

Which camera do you have, Rich?
Here are a couple other forums discussing shooting tethered to a laptop... what you use apparently depends on your which camera you use:

Hope this helps.

Diana, thanks for the response. I should have put that in, it would have been an aid. I have a choice of 2. Sony A350 or SonyDSC-H5. Thanks for the links, very interesting stuff.

An alternative to buying a new piece of software would just be swapping memory cards in and out of the laptop when you take pictures. Not as elegant, but cheap!

I think that is the way I will go. After doing research, it doesn't look good for my cameras. Thanks for the advice.
