Frustrations with Adobe Premier Elements
I am trying to edit a 40-minute travel video.
Program frequently freezes or indicates system memory low.
My computer
INTEL Q6600 Quad 2.4 ghz – 2gb RAM Separate internal 200Gb data 7500rpm disc
Elements Software Serial No. 11431314376180179081
Virtual memory sized – 3 gb – 6gb
Video captured on Sanyo Xacti in MPEG4 format – 1920 x 1080 60 frames per second – 16:9
Stills resized to 2 m maximum height 1050 pixels.
I have read many FAQs on Adobe Website and have implemented all of the tweaks recommended in help document kb404997
Questions:
1. Is there anything I can do to make Premier Elements work more smoothly?
2. If not, what is the best software to use in order to batch convert my files to work in Premier Pro 1.1 (which I also own)?
3. Have I used an appropriate sized MPEG4 file for Premier Elements?
4. Is there any way of checking that a MPEG4 file is corrupt?
5. Does deleting rendered files then re-rendering free up system memory?
