Is there a way to lookat a /jpg in PSE7 and tell if I have added any effects to it or not.
I have several photos that I can not remember if I added effects to before saving
thanks

I guess I don't understand something.
If you look at the photo in PSE7, you can see if the effects have been added? Right?

No I can not tell for sure. They are very slight. That is why I would like to tell by looking at the property or ?? to know for sure

A flattened JPEG does not offer you the opportunity to use the undo history palette, since the layers are not preseved in this file format.
A good thing to do is to preseve your picture files, unaltered, right out of the camera on CD, DVD, or ext. HD. More than once have I gone back to square one as I have become more proficient with this program.

I may not be asking the question the right way..I know I can not recover the photo if it was altered ,BUT how can I tell if it WAS altered?

Compare it to your original, maybe? That's what I do. Check the exif information to see when or if the date modified is different, file size different, etc.

Hi, most people use save as and add a letter to the filename, like Suzi-e.jpeg.
If it is a .psd file, you have opened the image and saved as psd - can't tell if you made changes but you propably did..
The organizer usually won't let you overwrite an original without asking specifically to overwrite it.
General policy is to never overwrite your original. Use version sets in the organizer to keep different edits together.
Or develop your own system of codes to add to the file name so you can tell what you did to the image.

Try file>info and check to see when modified. In future make changes on layers and save as tiff or psd or write what you did in the comments/description areas of the info window.

When I correct a photo and save it I add what I used. I.E. Bearpwlcrpjpeg. That is a bear that was cropped and I used paint with light on it. Actually the end is usually tiff. I only put it in jpeg for pixentral or email.
