I have seen some really incredible scrapbook pages and am wondering if they are printed out once completed? Are the elements printed on the scrapbook paper or all of these pages posted into a digital scrapbook online or CD? Seems like printing would use a lot of ink and currently am fighting some computer gremlins that are messing with my computer so am being cautious about new projects.

I used to print mine but now mostly keep them in digital albums. When I was designing it was just too much to keep up with so I create but rarely print. I had a complete book printed at Shutterfly for a pretty reasonable cost and gave it as a gift. Some people choose to create at 12x12 but print at 8x8 because it takes less ink and the standard letter size paper is much cheaper than the larger size needed to print at 12x12.

I started this hobby as digi-only, but started printing 8x8 - at home on semi-gloss - because I was curious how the pages would look in print. They looked so cool, I continued printing until now I have the real urge to get the pages bound into an album. Where does it end? ;)

With the newer technology for making videos from scrapbook pages - where the end project is really clear - I think my next project will be on a DVD that will play on TV.

But, I have a great printer and I love the way the prints look - so giving up printing my LO's will be hard. I'm not quite there yet.

And yes, they are very expensive to print at home. I'm pretty sure it's cheaper at an outside source, but I like semi-gloss and I like the control I have when I print at home - so those are two reasons why it would be hard for me to give up printing my LO's.

DVDs for the TV that sounds like it would be a really neat project, even a slide show on CD would make great gifts. Why didn't I think of that option. Guess I better get to work thinking. clk

I have my pages printed. I used to do 12x12 but found the books too cumbersome and hard to fit in my book shelves. I now have my pages printed 8x8 and put them in books I buy at our local Hobby Lobby Store. I use a really great site called ScrapingSimply. They do a super job, quality is great, time to process is fast. The price is reasonable as well. I have been pleased. It is so much cheaper to have them printed that way instead of trying to print them myself. You use way too much paper, ink etc and sometimes the computer or printer get fussy and you can be stuck with a page that doesn't look as good printed on paper as it did on the screen. I wait until I have at least 10 pages or photos I want printed that way I can save on s/h.
