I have been using Adobe Photo Deluxe for years but it will not install in Vista. Nothing will. Does Elements 7 have the tools to restore old photo's?
Thank you.

I am not quite sure what tools you may be looking for but PSE 7 does have the tools that I would use to restore photos .
If you are asking should you update the answer from me is yes. You will be amazed at the difference between photo delux and PSE 7
clone tool , filters, the use of layers.

Absolutely. If you know how to use the clone stamp, healing brush, levels, and layers, you can do amazing things. PSE 7 is light years ahead of Photo Deluxe, which means more to learn, but more power and options. Go for it.

Thank you. I just ordered it. At first I was confused on the PSE. Took me a sec to realize I ordered the correct program. I am excited! I haven't been able to do much of anything since the purchase of a new computer with VISTA. Is it as user friendly as Photo Delux?
Now all I need to do is get Vista to read all my photo CD's made with Roxio Easy Creator! Who's the idiot that came up with Vista anyway??? I'm 62. Hate change!
Thanks again,
Sue

Oh, c'mon Sue! Don't you know that Windows 7 is coming this fall!:D
I think you'll find PSE relatively friendly, but don't get intimidated when you first open it and see all the tools. Take advantage of the free tutorials here and the cumulative experience of forum users and you'll get the hang of it. You'll probably use the same tools over and over for photo restoration: clone stamp, healing brushes, levels and layers. Of all of them, layers may be the most important to learn. They allow you to do all kinds of neat things.
As for Roxio, you may have to upgrade to the most recent version but you should be able to read your old CDs. I don't think the file format has changed, only the program's features.
