Hi, I have a Windows XP machine. The folders containing my photo files are located on my "C" hard drive ("C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\My Pictures"). I have been using PE6 to import the photos into a Catalog, tag them, organise into albums etc. But my C drive is getting full. I back up the catalog and photo folders onto an external hard drive via PS6. So I have recently installed a second (large) hard drive ("F drive") in my computer that I want to use only for all my photo stuff.
What is the best way to move all the folders containing the photo files, as well as the Catalog (database) to the new F drive and remove the photo folders from the C drive?
(A) via the "Restore" command from the external hard disk (in which case are the folders still on C drive and I need to remove them with Windows Explorer), or
(B) via the "Move" command (in Photo Browser, File>Move), and does this move both the physical location of the photo folders as well as the catalog database so neither remains on C drive. Before using "Move" do I need to set up a new folder hierarchy structure in F drive, or
(C) is there some other way?
Thanks for your help. I'm rather new to all this and don't want to lose all the work I have put in to organising my photos so far in PE6.
