I am doing a self portrait and I downloaded some tear/raindrops. But when I use them, they are opaque. how do I get them to look real?
Thanks for your input.

are the tears on a transparent background. Did you place the tears on the top layer of photo you want them on. Then try some of the blend modes on the tear layer.

Charlotte, try opening your photo. Then dragging the tear into it. Then play with the modes and opacity. If this does not work someone else will need to pick up the ball.

try adding the ghost layer style to the tear.

or add a bevel and a small drop shadow and drop your fill on your layer.

Hi, maybe this tutorial will help you.
It is for photoshop

or maybe NOT

I used CS2 and a png is no good to save it would have to be a layer.

I experimented with a brush called platinum raindrops( don't know where I got it).
On its own layer, soft light and reduced opacity = maybe OK.

Corey Barker did a tutorial on Water drops in the subscriber section.
