Creating a photo montage

I have a beautiful picture of a sunset ,and I want to add an image of flying birds I have on file into the picture.
Can someone help me explain the steps to put the birds into the sunset.
I need a step by step instruction please to help me.

Graem.c, the general technique would be to use the appropriate selection tools to make a selection of the birds, and copy them onto the sunset image. When you copy them, they will by put on their own layer so you can position, resize, etc., once you get them moved over.

What level of skills do you have and how detailed/intricate are the birds in the second image?

Jeff, sorry for the delay but I have been havibg a nightmare with my password.
I found out how to put the birds into the sunset by trial and error. I have been using Elements since #3 and have updated each year but this one.
This is the first time I have tried to do this procedure and at first neede help. Thanks for answering my call for help'
