I don't have a Mac, but here are some instructions I found by googling:

Hope this helps.

Hi ...
First thing is which action is it and did it come with atn file, a png file and an xml file ??
If so then the atn file and the png file go here:
Library\Application Support\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Photo Creations\Photo Effects
Next the xml files file goes here:
Library\Application Support\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Locale\ en-US or your own locale>Photo Creations Metadata>Photo Effects
Then rename the Mediadatabase.db3 to MediadatabaseOLD.db3 (it is located at Library\Application Support\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\6.0\Locale\ en-US) and restart Elements ... the Mediadatabase.db3 will rebuild but you may have to wait a while for it to do so
Something you do have to be careful with is that the Library in the path is the top library on the Mac ... its at the same level as Applications (there are several different libraries on the Mac but this is the one you need)

And one more thing that hasn't been mentioned - make sure that the actions you are trying to install will work with PSE - many actions are written only for the full blown Photoshop (CS4 or earlier)

Wendy :)
This worked for me the first time....But what happens the 2nd and 3rd time you install actions? Can you name the Mediadatabase.db3 over and over again? Does it need to be changed each time you save an action?
TIA

Hi ...
When you rename the Mediadatabase.db3 you are just making it so that Elements doesn't find it and is then forced to rebuild the database. When it rebuilds it finds the actions and adds them into the new database.
Once the database is rebuilt you can then delete the MediadatabaseOLD.db3.
Because you need to force Elements to rebuild the database then you do need to do this each time you add an action :)

What is coffeeshop actions? Is it a web site for elements automation? May we see the web site? Diana refered to it in her reply as this: (http://graduategrace.blogspot.com/2009/03/installing-actions-in-photoshop.html)
Thanks,

Jaw,
Coffeeshop (http://coffeeteaphotography.blogspot.com/) - lots and lots of beautiful free actions for Photoshop/Elements - she tells you if they don't yet work in PSE.
