PSE7 effects jpgs

Hi All:
I noticed recently that there are lots of .jpg s in MyDocuments/MyPictures that look like stuff from the "effects" area of PSE7. They are named, for example: blur.thumbnail.jpg I'm afraid to move or "disturb" them lest they mess up Photoshop Elements. Obviously I'm a newbie. :) Help please!

The small files that you have found are part of the "Filters" screens. They are examples of what you would get should you select one of the thumnails on that screen. Don't erase them. They don't take up much room.

What you're describing seems odd. I'm no expert; but I don't think those thumbnails should be appearing in your My Documents/My Pictures folders. My reply will bump your thread up; I hope some of the experts will see it.

BTW, the reason your thread caught my attention is because some time ago My Pictures folder and subfolders got invaded by files that seemed to originate in PSE7 and shouldn't have been there. If you're interested, here is my thread (http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47557):
