PSE6 Organizer - updating?

In the last few weeks I've noticed that, when I've completed adding/moving some files in Organizer, I get a small box with a progress bar which just says "Updating". I've never noticed it before now and it's really slow...maybe 3-4 minutes. Doesn't do it every time I change Organizer - maybe once/twice a week. Of course it always happens when I'm in a hurry. Any idea what's going on?
