View Full Version : Catalog is GONE !

A few days ago I tried to reinstall my PSE 6 because I was missing some items in the online gallery. When reinstalling the program asked me to put in disk 1. I have no disk 1, just one disk for the whole program. So I canceled. Today when I opened PSE 6 Everything is gone. No pictures & no catalog. Is there any way to get my old catalog back? :confused:

It's hard to imagine how re-installing (successful or not) would either repair your on-line gallery or affect your catalog.

Try File->Catalog->Open and see if your existing catalog is listed.

You do have backups, don't you?

Hopefully it is still there ... as what you did really shouldn't have deleted anything :)

I've checked everything...File -Catalog...all of it. Nothing is there. Have no idea what or how it happened but thank goodness I do have backup. It will take me a couple of hours to fix all the keyword tags & tag almost 3000 pictures. At least I can do that. Thanks anyway.

You should have a backup of your catalog file, which is where your tags are.

If not, you might try downloading something called an undelete utility, which can find and recover deleted files. Free versions are available at tucows.com
