Matt Kloskowski has this wonderful video tutorial in the Elements Techniques membership area on using Camera Raw in Elements on JPEG images. His illustration is done on a Mac and describes the process for selecting a JPEG image, but getting it to open in the Elements Camera Raw applet.
I tried this procedure using Elements 7 in Windows Vista. In Elements, I went to a folder with the Open dialog box Files of Type set to JPEG. Several JPEG files appeared in the window. I then highlighted one of the JPEG files.
In Matt's tutorial, he then changed the Files of type to Camera Raw. The JPEG files remained in his window and he clicked on one of the JPEG files to open it in Camera Raw rather than selecting the Open button.
On my Windows setup, as soon as I change the Files of type to Camera Raw, the JPEG files in the windows above disappear.
I know that Camera Raw is working because I can open Raw files in Camera Raw.
Is there a way Elements can be customized in Windows to take advantage of Matt's tip?
Thanks in advance.
