Okay, okay, I may have picked more than usual, but it's not my fault! :D The talent and creativity of Villagers made it very difficult to select just a few images to highlight. Beautiful photography seemed abundant this week but was equaled by some stellar examples of images worked with various effects. Here are my picks for honorable mention:
Away He Goes (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13255&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=2) by Chesney. The composition, depth of field, and strong vignetting all combine to make me feel like I'm an observer of this little guy's launch on a lifetime of big adventures.
Fisheye Dog (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13267&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=2) by BillZ. Dogs' snouts seem to be a perfect subject for fisheye views! I love how lively and engaging those beautiful eyes look and a bonus for me is how the the composition sort of spirals inwards around the main subject.
Anglican Cathedral (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13289&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=2) by PestMaster. Awesome long exposure shot of this fabulous cathedral. The twilight blue sky and starburst street lights are wonderful.
Fantasy in Color (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13336&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=5) and Across the Moon (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13260&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=2) by Pacfam. A two-fer! Both beautiful examples of the illustrative capabilities of Elements when in the hands of a skillful and artistic member like Doris. Amazing!
Spring Blossoms (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13311&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=5) by Martha. Marvelous example of the out-of-border effect combined with a frosted glass frame set off this already gorgeous image beautifully.
Pink Petals (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13246&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=2) by pointandpray. The interesting perspective and shallow depth of field make for a moody atmosphere that I find really captivating. Perfect choice for selective color - the pink petals capture my attention and hold it.
Sea Dirt (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13395&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=5) by Ladybug. I don't know much about scrapping, but this is a darn cute photo and to me is enhanced by well-balanced placement of very harmonious scrap elements.
HDR (Topaz Like) Effect (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13401&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=5)by MsKaty. A beautiful composition with a sky that sets of the Lady Liberty silhouette perfectly.
Sprague Lake & the Continental Divide (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13343&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=5)by Kim2900. Next year, I plan to tag along on Kim's vacation. :D Gorgeous shot!
Dream On (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13352&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=5) by dmkahn53. Lovely composition and a well-executed soft focus effect enhance the scene's serenity.
Hotel on the Hill (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13397&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=5) by Jimac. This lonely hotel intrigues me. The pretty light falling on the hotel seems to contrast the barrenness of the setting and it all combines to make me want to know more.
And, in a slight deviation from EV tradition, this week the following two images will share the IOW designation:
Lighthouse (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13253&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=2)by Stanokella.

Desperately Seeking Lobster (http://www.elementsvillage.com/gallery/showimage.php?i=13324&catid=newimages&cutoffdate=5) by dmkahn53.
