I had been dealing with a Runtime Error R6025 for a month. Elements editor wouldn't open. I scoured the Internet and found this fabulous piece of help.
"Sounds to me like you have a corrupted preferences file; rebuild the preferences and see if you can get better results. Start the program, and immediately hold the Command, Option, and Shift keys (PC: Control-Alt-Shift) keys to rebuild prefs."

This should come with every copy of Photoshop Elements. It works.
