Hi Lea ...
It doesn't matter if you are using the Windows Version or the Mac version the actions will work on either.
What you do have to watch for is if the actions are intended for Elements and not Photoshop.
Try these links for free actions:

Wendy, where do you install an action for CS2 on a mac?
I have a PUZZLE EFFECTS Free.atn from Panos.
I've searched but haven't found any instructions that are clear.
Thanks

Hi Frank ...
Things are so much easier to install in Photoshop ... you can either:
Install them in the CS2 folder>Presets>Actions
Or
Create a new folder anywhere on your computer (mine is in my CS3 folder and I called it W's Actions)
... and put the action in there.
Then to use an action you go to the Actions Palette, click on the icon top right (a sort of little tab) then selection Load Actions. Just negotiate your way to where they are and take it from there.
Its as simple as that :)

Frank ...
I keep all of my brushes, styles, shapes etc in their own folders (just like the actions one).
It means if you get a new version of Photoshop then all you do is copy the folders over. Also as they are not installed it means you can have as many as you like, because they are not installed it doesn't slow down Photoshop opening :)

I followed your instructions but when I load the puzzle nothing happens.
I open a photo and select it, and then load the puzzle action I still do not get anything.
Can you give me a step by step guide?
This is what my actions palette looks like.

Hi Frank ...
Just open the image you want to use, load the action ... click on the effect in the action set that you want and then click on play (at the bottom of the actions palette a sort of right facing triangle.)
Let me know how you go on with it:)

Hi again wendy..
sorry to bug you again..
but a few of the actions I have googled previously say the following
'Be sure to choose the correct version for your version of Elements (Windows-only) in the drop menu above!'
so if its saying windows only then it is not compatible with mac version of elements? or is it? you mentioned in your first reply that all they will work on either?
hope to hear from you soon
Kind regards
Lea

Hi Lea ...
Usually people say things like that when the actions haven't been tested on a Mac .. but they should work just fine.
Its just the install instructions that are slightly different :)
