I need to move Photoshop Elements organizer database to my new computer. I've read several troubleshooting instructions but I need information specific to my situation.
I attempted to backup and after a long wait, the backup suddenly quit and reported an error had occurred. In other words, I have not been able to do a complete backup.
I also tried to go into the Catalog Manager to optimize the Catalog and received another error message. Then tried to repair the Catalog only to get another error message (Error found in the thumbnail cache. Would you like to remove the thumbnail cache? It will be rebuilt in the background the next time you open this catalog). Concerned that files/data might be eliminated by saying OK to remove the thumbnail cache when I was not successful in fully backing up might eliminate files, I did not perform this task.
How can I migrate my Photoshop Elements database to my new computer given the difficulties described above?

Move your entire collection of photos to the exact same folders on the new computer.

Move the folder containing your catalog file (*.psa in PSE5 or earlier; .psedb in PSE6; .pse7db in PSE7) to the new computer. Then double-click on your catalog file.

I had my tags in a structure, which was ignored (and thus destroyed) when I moved PSE to my new computer. Any advice on preserving the tag structure?
Can I go back and copy the tag structure from a file?

Already answered. "Move the folder containing your catalog file (*.psa in PSE5 or earlier; .psedb in PSE6; .pse7db in PSE7) to the new computer. Then double-click on your catalog file."
