PSE7 - Downloader failure to load plugins

Every time I plug in my camera via usb to my computer with Vista 64 the photoshop download window pops up and I get the error message: "Failed to load plugins required to get media from device." Then I have to open PSE7 and download the photos from the camera via the Files menu.

Does anyone have a clue on how to fix this error? A screen shot of the error message is attached.

I'm surprised that the Adobe Photo Downloader even opened. See this tech note for why it doesn't work on Vista 64:

Another workaround is to use the Windows Live Photo Gallery downloader instead.

Disabling the photoshop downloader solved the problem. Thanks for the link to the windows live programs. The downloader in windows photogallery should work great.
