We went on this fabulous art walk today. This is part of a winding walkway.

Some seashells, agates and a starfish found at a garage sale (I will not remove them from their natural environment myself:)) placed in an old decanter. Since the beach is close by I took the collection there for the backdrop. They enjoyed the morning's jaunt and reacquainted themselves with the barnacles.
Does anyone know what may have been in this decanter? An iris powder? Do irises have a fragrance?

Bill,
Here are some cashew (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cashew) nuts (or as we call them in Brazil -- castanhas de cajú) with their shells still intact. They were collected over 15 years ago and even today one would need a hammer to break them open.

Taken with my cell-phone-cam, blue-toothed to my PDA ('cuz I don't have a data plan on my cell phone, and I don't want to pay per-bit rates just to send a quick pic), then transferred to my laptop via USB dock.
At dinner, yesterday... (the quality of the photo does absolutely NO justice to the quality of the meal!)

Being landlocked, I did wonder what I was going to find for this week's theme, but lo and behold we are not short on accumulated crap - oops I mean treasures and collectables :D, so I remembered that somewhere we have one of those flower pots covered with shells . . .

and actually taking some shots of this is the only thing that has gone right today . . . or maybe not .
In case you are wondering how I might come to be in possession of such an article, well my mom inherited off her aunty and this was one item the greeedy cousin (co-heir, and yes it needs 3 'e's) didn't appropriate for himself. It is now a receptacle for curtain hooks, and with the demise of Woolworths where on earth will we ever find curtain hooks again anyway!!!:D

Was driving down a country road today when this shell of an old farmhouse in the middle of a freshly seeded corn field winked at me so I had to take its picture.

These rowing shells are stored upside down and stacked; I couldn't figure how to show how very long and skinny they are. Pretty amazing wood work though.

Raised on a ranch, couldn't resist! Put the plate on my computer desk chair and used a desk lamp as side lighting. (Real high tech!!) Just added a warm filter.

Okay... another entry from me (as make-up work for the themes when I was slacking! :p)
Souvenirs from Mexico... the three in back are, IIRC, from Acapulco. The one in front is from Tlaquepaque and is my favorite because it whistles. You can play tunes by blowing into its tail while closing/opening the holes in it's back with your fingertips -- like a tortuga-shaped ocarina! (I have heard of a version that looks like a little Aztec mask, too... but that may only be an Amazing Story ;))

LOL Last time I looked, no one had shown any egg shells. Now I see someone did. And I will be the second, though I'm a tad late. :o
Originally I had gotten a shot of an abandoned building in NY Harbor, but it lacked any interest so I didn't post.
Anyway, here's my contribution:
